2015 Fantasy Football: Overvalued WR’s

0

TY Hilton – TY has a ton of talent and a new lease on his dynasty stock with his contract extension but he will remain a low volume, high yard per catch weekly boom or bust type until Andre Johnson leaves town. We are not buying as a WR1 despite his upside to finish top-12 at his position.

Emmanuel Sanders – Yes Julius Thomas is gone but the new emphasis on the ground game is for real as Manning’s arm looks noticeably weaker year after year, Sanders should still have some mega weeks giving him some low end WR2 appeal but is not worth his current ADP due to his floor.

Julian Edelman/Brandon LaFell – Both have to wait until Tom Brady comes back to realize their full potential which puts them in bye week filler range as opposed to the WR2 and WR3 they are being drafted as. If Aaron Dobson finally emerges both will take a backseat and lose targets and production as a result.

Martavis Bryant – I like Martavis a lot as he can take the lid off the top of a D and is also a red zone match-up nightmare, he would be a sleeper if this were June but the hype train has been rolling and he is being drafted about where one would envision his ceiling while still possessing a very low floor.

Eric Decker – I did not like Decker much even with Geno so with the move to Fitzpatrick he gets a slight downgrade. Decker is a solid flex option but is not someone you want as you WR3 as he will be inconsistent throughout the season.

Steve Smith – I have Steve Smith as the flex and Perriman as the WR3. It could go either way but with Mighty Mouse already stating this will be his last season look for the Ravens to try to groom Perriman while he gets to learn under and across from the future hall of famer. Perriman has some possession chops and should end up with more receptions than Smith if their season end snap counts are similar.

Reuben Randle – Randle is stuck behind Beckham, Cruz, Vereen and perhaps Donnell in the target pecking order in New York and is not someone who will make his way onto any of my teams at any point in the draft.

Kenny Stills – The Dolphins cannot support more than two receivers and we are betting on those two being Jarvis Landry and DaVante Parker when all is said and done. Stills seems ticketed for the same type of clear out role he played in New Orleans which means low volume, high yard per catch inconsistency.

Terrance Williams – Terrance Williams touchdown per catch rate from 2014 is not a sustainable number and as the third option in the passing game he will be an inconsistent weekly play. We like Williams and his upside across from Dez Bryant but he possesses a very low floor and thus is more of a risk than most of the guys ranked ahead of him despite being a starter.
