Daily Fantasy Football: NFL Week 9 at DraftKings

DFS Values: DraftKings – Week Nine

Antonio Brown (CPP $314) – with Le’veon Bell out for the season and Big Ben back under center Antonio Brown recaptures his spot as the top PPR receiver and a top weekly CPP play on DraftKings. Brown remains one of the most consistent options with Big Ben at the helm and Deangelo Williams has shown enough on the ground early this season to keep opposing defenses honest. Brown will likely find his way to the majority of my lineups this week over at DraftKings.

Stevie Johnson (CPP $245) – Stevie Johnson will likely be one of the hottest DraftKings starts this week due to his role, CPP and bargain of an overall salary based on his expected role going forward with Keenan Allen out for the season. This game is expected to be more competitive than one would think and Johnson should see plenty of targets as option 1b behind Antonio Gates and ahead of the field stretching Malcolm Floyd. The Chargers run game is strong enough to keep defenses honest and Johnson could be in line for what can easily turn out to be his best game of the season on prime time. Fire up Stevie wherever possible.

Melvin Gordon (CPP $260) – Gordon looks like a strong play this week against with Keenan Allen out for the season the Chargers are expected to recommit to the run game following the loss of their top receiver which should result in appreciable touches for the rookie running back. This game has only a 4.5 point spread and should be more competitive than one might think leading the Chargers to look to control the ball on offense late in the game giving Gordon more opportunity.

Todd Gurley (CPP $297) – Gurley is the top CPP play this week at the running back position and still has a solid overall salary despite being the third most expensive back. The Rams will look to keep the Vikings off the field for as long as possible and this contest could turn into the Adrian Peterson vs Todd Gurley show very early. Gurley is a top two talent at the running back position overall and is the top ranked running back for week nine. Start Gurley wherever possible.

Drew Brees (CPP $293) – Drew Brees has been looking like the Drew Brees of old the past few weeks and comes into week nine as the top CPP play over at DraftKings despite being heavy favorites against the Titans. The Titans get Mariota back this week and may be a bit more competitive than Vegas expects them to be when you couple in the struggles the Saints defense has had this year stopping anyone. This game could quickly turn into a shootout if Mariota can keep up despite the injury to top receiver Kendall Wright and we should see the rejuvenated Brees pass for 325 plus yards and two touchdowns in this one as a floor. Who dat.
