Hot Pickups – Week 15

Da’Rick Rogers – Rogers finally got a fair opportunity to play this season and responded with 107 yards and two touchdowns off of six receptions. Rogers is in fact the most talented receiver on the Colts not named Reggie Wayne but off-field issues torpedoed his draft stock and a practice incident in which he stood over a teammate and taunted him following a TD helped him get cut from the Bills. Rogers is a must-add in all formats as he should be targeted as the Colts number one receiver the rest of the way. Rogers is available in 99 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Dennis Pitta – Joe Flacco wasted no time getting Dennis Pitta involved in the Ravens offense targeting the tight end six times and hooking up with him for 68 yards and a touchdown. Pitta will be a hot add this week with Rob Gronkowski getting knocked out of the Patriots-Browns game so try to make the stealth add while your rival owners put in claims for Da’Rick Rogers. Pitta is available in 90 percent of Yahoo! leagues as of Sunday night.

Daniel Thomas – With Lamar Miller getting knocked out of the game with a concussion Daniel Thomas finally displayed the vision and power that made fanalysts like myself drool when he was coming out of college. Thomas is a back who gets better every touch and he steamrolled his way to 105 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. What makes his effort even more impressive is that it came in the snow. Thomas will have RB2 level value against a Patriots team giving up the eleventh most fantasy points to opposing running backs if Lamar Miller is ruled out for this weekend’s contest. Thomas is available in 88 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Cordarelle Patterson – Patterson went off this past Sunday racking up five receptions for 141 yards and a highlight reel touchdown. Patterson saw seven targets on the afternoon and continues to see a big role in the Vikings offense. Patterson has entered the WR3 conversation where he will likely debut next year as well. Patterson is available in 73 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Justin Hunter – With Kendall Wright banged up Justin Hunter rotated in for roughly the same amount of snaps as Wright and Washington which lead to the rookie posting a career high 114 yards and a touchdown making this the second time in three weeks Hunter has surpassed the 100 yard barrier. Hunter is available in 90 percent of Yahoo! leagues and is an upside WR4 the rest of the way. Hunter is already owned in all dynasty leagues but those in deeper redrafts may want to check the wire just in case his former owner dropped him for a previous pickup of the week.

Shonn Greene – Greene scored two touchdowns and ran for 46 yards against the Broncos converting a goal line carry as well as taking a 28 yard run to the end zone. Greene is still the lesser back in this committee but he has flex value in deeper touchdown heavy formats. Green has a tough matchup this week versus the Cardinals but has a plus matchup vs the Jaguars in week 16. Greene is available in 88 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Rod Streater – Available in 80 percent of Yahoo! leagues Streater is having a solid if inconsistent fantasy season. Streater led the Raiders with ten targets this past Sunday and posted seven receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown. Streater remains a solid play in deeper leagues and should already be owned in most competitive deeper leagues. Streater has WR4 value with WR3 upside.

Toby Gerhart – Adrian Peterson is in a walking boot and most feel that the Vikings will not rush AP back as they are already out of the playoff hunt. With that said playing football is therapeutic for Peterson leading us to believe he will suit up if he can regardless of whether or not the team wants to hold him out. Gerhart will be a solid RB2 level, low floor play if AP misses the game so he needs to be snapped up in the 90 percent of leagues he is available in. Before putting in your claims just be cognizant of the fact that the power back who put 89 yards and a TD versus Baltimore also tweaked his hammy which leaves him questionable for this weeks contest.

Marlon Brown – Brown had a strong week fourteen with seven receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown but is not a recommended waiver claim this week. Brown caught a total of three passes in his previous three games and Joe Flacco does not throw the ball 50 times per game. Available in 90 percent of Yahoo! leagues Brown is worth no more than a minimum bid or a non waiver add in the deeper leagues he is not already owned in.

Bills D/ST – Even after surrendering 27 points to the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers the Buffalo Bills are a strong play against the Jaguars this week. The Jags have been surging, notching three wins in a row but still surrender the most fantasy points to opposing defenses. The Bills should be good for a pick or two and a handful of sacks. Add and start the Bills with confidence this week.
