Hot Pickups – Week Nine

DeAngelo Williams – Available in 77 percent of Yahoo! leagues DeAngelo Williams will be this week’s top pickup with Le’veon Bell being lost for the season with a torn ACL. Williams was on a serious roll while Bell was on suspension and should slide right into upside RB2 territory. A former number one overall running back in fantasy Williams showed he still has juice left in the tank and should be added in all leagues as he is likely the best free agent we will see for the rest of the season so make your FAAB bids and waiver claims accordingly.

Vernon Davis – In the first big splash of this year’s trade deadline Vernon davis was shipped to the Broncos for two sixth round picks. Davis gets a major value boost going to the Broncos and should be an immediate TE1 and should be in our top five rest of season rankings that we will be releasing at the end of the week. Add the 66 percent available Davis in all formats immediately as a potential saviour if you swung and missed at the TE position this year.

Jeremy Langford – With Matt Forte expected to miss multiple weeks with an MCL injury Jeremy Langford is expected to take over as the lead back in the Bears backfield. This is a John Fox backfield however so don’t be surprised to see a street agent veteran or Ka’Deem Carey get the first call but Langford is arguably the most talented health running back on the Bears roster and is the one you want to target. Langford will be a flex play with RB2 upside for as long as Forte is on the shelf.

Malcolm Floyd – Available in 82 percent of Yahoo! leagues Floyd went off for two touchdowns off of four receptions and 92 yards in week eight. He will, as always, be inconsistent from week to week but is a solid bye week filler with upside for those needing wide receiver depth especially now with Keenan Allen sidelined indefinetly.

Marques Colston – Marques Colston showed some signs of life in the most offensively exciting game of the week, he compiled eight receptions, 114 yards and a touchdown and may have cemented a bigger week to week role going forward. Available in 64 percent of Yahoo! leagues Colston should be at the very least be a speculative add in deeper formats.

Nate Washington – A week after his sixteen target, nine reception, two touchdown week Washington predictably cooled off but still managed a solid fantasy day with four receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown planting him firmly on the midsize league radar. If you are in a deep league he has already been scooped up but is still available in 75 percent of Yahoo! leagues and makes for a fine bye week filler. Be careful with your FAAB or waiver add as he is on a bye next week and will be less sought after than he otherwise would because of this.

Kamar Aiken – With Breshad Perriman inexplicably still on the mend Aiken still has some deep league value as he displayed Sunday with his six reception performance. Still available in 82 percent of Yahoo! leagues Aiken should be owned in all deeper formats at least until Perriman returns. Aiken is an apt bye week filler and injury replacement for the time being as a flex3 with upside.

Antonio Andrews – available in 67 percent of Yahoo! leagues Andrews is operating as the Titans lead back and should be added in most custom formats with the knowledge that David Cobb is expected to return to the team for week nine and is also a suggested pickup for those in deeper leagues.

Rueben Randle – Despite my distaste for Randle he remains a starter with a good quarterback and should be owned in more than 43 percent of Yahoo! leagues. Randle has proven time and time again he does not have a high football IQ but is still in possession of ample target opportunities and should be owned in most custom formats.

Deep leagues radar: Dwayne Harris; Andre Holmes, Lance Moore, Theo Riddick, Jeremy Kerley, Kenny Stills, Chris Givens, David Cobb, Ka’Deem Carey, Tim Hightower
