RB Rankings – Week Nine

Eddie Lacy comes in as a top six option this week against a Bears defense that belies its name as a Bears defense. The Bears have been gashed by opposing running backs in recent weeks and they have little to no chance of slowing down Eddie Lacy especially with top linebacker Lance Briggs on the shelf. Start Lacy with confidence and give him a look if you play daily’s.

Jonathan Stewart comes in as our 24th ranked running back this week against the Falcons. DeAngelo Williams is banged up and his play has fell off as the season has progressed. Stewart is the Panthers most talented running backs and should get the most touches in this backfield going forward. Stewart will likely be a RB3 most weeks until he gets going but is an RB2 this week during a bye heavy, injury riddled week nine.

Zac Stacy is a top-13 option this week after looking downright impressive against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Stacy looks like one of the best young backs in the league after that performance and if he is healthy he will continue to be leaned upon heavily by a Rams team playing inspired defense.

Mike James and the Bucs face the Seahawks this week and he comes in as a upside RB3 option. We like James a bit more in PPR leagues as Glennon likes to dump the ball off when nothing opens up downfield but this is a tough matchup. We understand it is a bye week and James is a feature back but we would not fault you for sitting your waiver wire gem this week.

Ryan Mathews barely missed the RB1 cut-off this week with a tasty matchup versus Washington on the schedule. Mathews has been impressive as of late despite splitting touches with Danny Woodhead. Expect Mathews to keep the good times rolling this week and vie for 80 plus rushing yards.
