Should you draft Maurice Jones-Drew?

Rizzla: Yes. We were asking ourselves the same question last year with MJD having knee issues. MJD didn’t do much to prove doubters wrong besides winning the rushing title with over 100 yards per game. MJD is undoubtedly keeping himself healthy and as a back who can get what’s blocked I am not overly worried about him not having mastered the new offensive system in Jacksonville. If you draft MJD just make sure you net Rashad Jennings in the later rounds.

Zach: Yes, you should.  I believer MoJo when he says he thinks things will work out.  I highly doubt he’ll see the same workload he did last season, but he’s still one of the most consistent fantasy players out there.  I’d probably take MoJo in the third round or so and get Rashad Jennings as a very necessary handcuff in later rounds.

J-Has: Yes, but not in the first round. As funny as it may be, MJD is very considerate towards the fantasy football community. Some may remember MJD apologizing for taking the knee at the goal line (instead of walking in for the touchdown) in order to run out the clock. In all seriousness, I believe the contract dispute will be eventually settled, but perhaps after the season begins. In an interview yesterday, MJD said that the Jacksonville ownership has not scheduled any meeting to renegotiate. And once it is settled, as we witnessed with Chris Johnson last year, missing all of the preseason will likely have a detrimental effect on Mojo’s production.
