Sit em, Start em – Week Ten

Start Em

Derek Carr – If you have not heard by now Derek Carr has emerged as a legitimate QB1 and is someone who will be in the conversation as long as Amari Cooper remains on his team. Carr has a solid matchup against the Vikings in which gameflow should give him a healthy amount of pass attempts and thus potential fantasy production. Carr is also a rock solid DFS value and should be deployed where a comfort level exists.

Jeremy Langford – Jeremy Langford is slated to get the start in week ten over Ka’Deem Carey and should be a solid upside RB2 play. Langford is a finesse back with top tier hands and is a solid replacement for Matt Forte both this season and for the future. Langford has a tougher matchup against the Rams defense this week but like Forte is well equipped to make fantasy noise both on the ground and through the air. Start Langford in all leagues.

DeAngelo Williams – This is the last time I will feel the need to tell anyone they need to start DeAngelo Williams for the remainder of the season but it is worth stating that even with Landry Jones slated to start for the Steelers today that Williams is still in the RB1 mix. DeAngelo is averaging 4.9 yards per carry and over 1.3 touchdowns per game over his three games as a starter and actually had a higher ypc as a backup. Start DeAngelo in all leagues.

Allen Hurns – Allen Hurns has been on fire this season and is a solid WR2/WR3 play from week to week going forward. The Jaguars have a plus matchup against a beatable Ravens secondary this week and he should be in line for a solid day. Hurns is currently tied for second among wide receivers with six touchdowns and has been a top-25 receiver thus far this year in all formats. Start Hurns in all leagues in this tasty matchup.

Ben Watson – Despite falling back to earth in week nine Watson has proven to be a solid tight end play whether it be in redraft, DFS, standard or PPR. Watson has really impressed this season and has become a large part of the Saints weekly gameplan and is a upside TE1 start against a weak Washington secondary.

Johnny Manziel – Manziel despite his poor pocket passing skills is still a tantalizing fantasy option due to his legs. This week against the Steelers however Manziel is bound to get roughed up and is not a suggested start despite being slated to start. Manziel is no more than a low end QB2 and should not be a consideration outside of 12+ team two QB leagues.

Dwayne Bowe – Despite playing a season high fifteen snaps and having his best game as a Brown Bowe is a very low upside option with a seemingly bottomless floor and should not be deployed in any except the absolute deepest of leagues until his role increases and he shows some consistency.

Alfred Blue – The Texans have a tough matchup this week with a red hot Bengals team that have been great against the run except for a breakout game by Seahawks rookie Thomas Rawls in week five. Alfred Blue is only an average talent to begin with and when you couple that with a tough matchup sitting owners should not give a second thought to sitting him in week ten. Look elsewhere for options wherever possible.

Ameer Abdullah – Abdullah has been a bitter disappointment this season and has seemingly lost his role in the Lions offense and looks to have been relegated to third on the team’s depth chart. The play of the Matthew Stafford and the Lions offensive line have not helped matters for the rookie but he remains the most talented running back on the Lions roster albeit without a large enough role to start from a fantasy perspective. This may be a good time to buy low in dynasty leagues but he should be on fantasy benches in all league sizes and formats this week.

Vernon Davis – If you have other options this week it is suggested you sit Vernon Davis until he starts to produce and play a higher amount of snaps for the Broncos. It seems like it is only a matter of time before he breaks out but as last week indicated his knowledge of the playbook is still limited which will limit his snaps and fantasy production potential. Start Davis if desperate but sit until further notice any and everywhere else.
