T-Mac, Greg Monroe and Chris Wilcox inserted into Detroit Pistons Starting Lineup

The Detroit Pistons team will look a lot different at Wednesday night’s tip-off against the Memphis Grizzlies. Pistons coach John Kuester has decided to drastically change up the starting lineup. Perennial starters Tayshaun Price and Rodney Stuckey will be joined by Tracy McGrady, Greg Monroe and Chris Wilcox.

The Pistons aren’t exactly the most exciting team, but this could play to one’s advantage as its players can easily slip under the fantasy radar. T-Mac will be starting at point guard, moving Stuckey over to shooting guard. This season T-Mac has started six games at point guard and has averaged 11.2 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. It is unclear how long this sticks, but it is clear that McGrady is fantasy-relevant when in the starting lineup.

Greg Monroe has the highest ceiling of these three players and has been improving every month of the season. In January, the rookie has been averaging a double-double despite coming off the bench. A move into the starting five means that he will be matched up against starters as opposed to second unit big men. But this will be balanced out by playing starter minutes, so he should continue to provide solid scoring and rebound numbers.

Chris Wilcox has appeared in just 14 games this season, but is coming off one of his best games of the season with 13 points, 9 rebounds 1 steal in just 21 minutes.  But while Monroe and McGrady are legit pickups, the last time Wilcox was fantasy-relevant, the Oklahoma Thunder were known as the Seattle Supersonics in 2007-08.  For now, add Wilcox to your watch list and monitor his production over the next week.
