Week 16 NFL Injury Update: Aaron Rodgers and Adrian Peterson are among the key injuries

1

It has yet to be decided whether Aaron Rodgers will be active for Packers game against the Giants.  Rodgers is still not cleared to play, but Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy hopes to have a medical update on Wednesday.  A Packer loss would basically knock them out of the playoffs, so one would think there is a good chance that Rodgers will play on Sunday.

Either the Chicago Bears or Green Bay Packers are going to get into the NFL Playoffs by winning the NFC North Division.  If you have a strong opinion on either team, then make a Super bowl spreads wager by logging onto the sportsbook!  Why?  Because both teams are going off at north of +2000 Super Bowl odds!

What a difference a year has made on another NFC North team. The Vikings have gone from being one play away from the Super Bowl last season to a 5 – 9 record so far this year. Adrian Peterson sat out last Monday’s game due to a thigh injury after colliding with quarterback Tavaris Jackson in the previous week. It was reported that he could have played through it, but with the Vikings eliminated from the playoffs, there was no need to risk aggravating the injury.  Considering that he was game-time decision in Week 15, there is a good chance that Peterson plays this week.

Austin Collie is likely out for the remainder of the season after sustaining another concussion last Sunday.  Blair White will move up the depth chart and become the Colts’ third wide receiver.

Mike Goodson has been fantasy-relevant since week 10, which has included accumulating over 100 yards in three consecutive games.  But Goodson missed Tuesday’s practice due to an illness.  Considering that the Panthers play Thursday night, there is strong possibility that he either sits out or plays sparingly.

Arian Foster will likely play against the woeful Broncos on Sunday.  He left last Sunday’s game due to an ankle and hip injury, but it was later reported that he would have returned if the game was close.  If Foster is unable to play, Derrick Ward would become the primary running back.

Speaking of the Broncos, Knowshon Moreno is questionable for Week 16 after leaving last week’s game with a rib injury.

Terrell Owens is likely done for the season.  He had knee surgery on Monday after tearing cartilage in his left knee.  Andre Caldwell will start in place of Owens.
