Week Nine Rankings

At the wide receiver position we now have pegged Emmanuel Sanders as a WR1 due to the shrinking pool of WR1 performers this year and we have also seen RB/WR Denard Robinson move into the WR2 conversation as well as the RB2 conversation. Pierre Garcon should get a big boost with RGIII slated to start this week and Percy Harvin is in the WR3 conversation after he has had an additional week to learn the Jets playbook. At the lower end of our rankings we have Markus Wheaton as an upside WR4/5 and Stedman Bailey and Chris Givens are back on the fantasy radar following Brian Quick’s season ending injury and are ranked 48th and 77th respectively.

At running back Jeremy Hill gets a big boost into the RB2 conversation with Gio Bernard dealing with a hip pointer issue. Rookie Charles Sims may make his return this week which means that Bobby Rainey has lost his upside and that Doug Martin will fall even further into fantasy football purgatory. The Browns coaches continue to worry about Isaiah Crowell’s ball security but that is a fixable problem and we still have him pegged as someone with weekly TD upside even playing behind Ben Tate.

At quarterback RGIII gets the QB1 nod this week against the Vikings while Big Ben fresh off a career day still profiles as a lower end QB1. Michael Vick is getting the start this week for the Jets and is ranked as a QB2 and while I have the space, though two of the three may be past their primes, on paper Chris Johnson, Michael Vick and Percy Harvin are three of the most electric and exciting players in the entire NFL and they play for the Gang Green. Eli Manning and to a lesser extent Ryan Fitzpatrick have interesting streaming matchups but we would suggest passing on Fitzpatrick as he is quite simply not good enough to be an NFL starter.

At tight end Rob Gronkowski finally finds himself back atop the mountain while Dwayne Allen is sitting right outside of the top five with Jordan Cameron out for the next two weeks.Jace Amaro is no more than a TE2 and Tim Wright remains a boom or bust upside TE2 for the Patriots.
