WR Rankings – Week Thirteen

Marques Colston and the Saints face off against the Seahawks this week and with Colston disappointing for the majority of this season it is hard to see him finding success against one of the leagues elite corners in Richard Sherman. The Seahawks are reeling in the cornerback department so Stills, Moore and Meachem have some upside this week but we expect Colston to be shut down.

Nate Burleson looks like a strong start this after returning to the Lions to the tune of seven receptions on ten targets for 77 yards and a score. Burleson immediately stepped up as the team’s number two receiver and the Canadian faces off against a Packers team that is in the bottom half of the league for fantasy points allowed to the wide receiver position. Burleson should see at least eight targets this week and should vie for 65 plus receiving yards. Burleson comes in as a WR3 this week and is ranked as our 36th overall play at the wide receiver position.

Percy Harvin comes in as a top-20 option this week in what is expected to be a shootout against the New Orleans Saints. The Seahawks had the bye week to get Harvin up to full speed and they are expected to finally unleash their top offensive off-season acquisition. The Saints have astonishingly been solid against the pass this season under Rob Ryan but Harvin is a special player with WR1 talent. The Saints have given up some solid fantasy days this season including the ten reception, 218 yard effort to Alshon Jeffery. Expect Harvin to vie for five plus receptions and 80 plus yards from scrimmage with at least 25 percent of them coming after the catch. Start Harvin with confidence this week.

Tavon Austin, despite his flashes of brilliance is a risky play in standard 12 team leagues. Austin has been doing a lot with limited touches buoying his fantasy value over the past few weeks but he is the definition of a boom or bust proposition. Austin has a FA floor with WR3 upside week to week but he gets a slight downgrade this week against a 49ers team that has allowed the tenth fewest points to the wide receiver position. Those in standard leagues will want to take a look at other options this week. Austin comes in as our 57th ranked wideout for week thirteen.
