WR Rankings

Instead of doing our own rankings this year, we will take a look at the opening rankings for all of the different skill positions from some of our favorite fantasy sports sources in ESPN, Yahoo! Sports, Pro Football Focus, CBS Fantasy Sports and NFL.com.

ESPN

Yahoo! Sports

Pro Football Focus (PPR)

CBS Fantasy Sports

NFL.com

Analysis: By looking at these sites rankings we can easily see that Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Hakeem Nicks and Roddy White are arguably the top five rated fantasy receivers for this year with Reggie Wayne, Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings rounding out the top eight.

Sophomores Mike Williams and Dez Bryant have cracked the top-15 in all of the non PPR rankings and are legit fantasy studs in the making. Dynasty league managers will want to pay particular attention to the ascension of these two playmakers.

Austin Collie seems to be projected for a big role as he is in or right outside the top-25 on all the lists including ranking #7 overall in Pro Football Focus’ PPR rankings due to his high catch percentage. We would suggest not spend such an early pick on a player that presents his sort of injury risk.

Though fantasy pundits like myself are more enamoured with Julio Jones, A.J Green is set to have a better rookie season as he is the Bengals unquestioned number one while Julio Jones will line up beside one of the most targeted receivers in the NFL.

Though everyone agrees that Percy Harvin is a top-25 receiver this year, exactly where he gets pegged is up for debate. What is for certain though is that Harvin is primed for a breakout season in 2011. Steve Johnson is another player who is in the top-25 but whose rank is disputed by over 10 spots in some cases.

The only name I am leery of in the top-10 is Miles Austin as it is the feeling here at Win My Fantasy League that Dez Bryant is indeed the superior talent and it will not take long for this fact to be reflected both on the field and on the stat sheet.

Mario Manningham has been getting a lot of fanalyst love so depending on when you draft he may still be a sleeper. Other sleepers to watch include: Roy Williams, A.J Green, Julio Jones, Mike Thomas, Greg Little, Steve Breaston, Johnny Knox and Denarius Moore.
