Rizzla digs deep to bring you his wide receiver rankings for week eight of the fantasy football season.
Week seven at the wide receiver position saw two of the games best make history. For the New York Giants we saw star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. become the fastest player ever to reach 5,000 receiving yards (post-merger), a spectacular feat when one considers Hall of Famers like Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss took longer, and one that highlights just how special OBJ is and how fortunate we are to be witnessing a generational talent once again at wideout following Megatron’s abrupt retirement. Also in the NFC we saw the Minnesota Vikings Adam Thielen tie the all time mark with seven consecutive 100 yard games to open the season and he is now one away from tying an even more impressive record of eight straight games with 100 receiving yards currently held by the aforementioned Calvin Johnson. Other noteworthy happenings in week seven include Jermaine Kearse flopping with zero receptions off of two targets despite the Jets trailing and running 32 routes and Albert Wilson potentially being lost for the season while Kenny Stills suffered an injury of his own leaving Danny Amendola, Jakeem Grant and the disgruntled DaVante Parker as the Dolphins only healthy options at receiver.
As always we will be updating these rankings up until Sunday afternoon so be sure to check back for our latest updates and thoughts.
