Rizzla presents his week fourteen wide receiver rankings and takes a look at Amari Cooper’s impact since joining the Cowboys.
Amari Cooper exploded for 217 yards and three touchdowns off of ten receptions against a decimated Eagles secondary putting up one of the highest quarter final week (otherwise known week fourteen) fantasy performances in recent memory. Amari Cooper’s 49.7 ppr fantasy points is a league high for the season and his monster performance Cooper leads the NFL with 642 receiving yards since his first game as a Cowboy in week nine. Suffice it to say that the Cowboys highly controversial trade for Cooper has been a resounding success.
To further illuminate Cooper’s positive correlative effect on the Cowboys offense consider these two nuggets via Adam Levitan and NFL Research twitter. As per Levitan Ezekiel Elliott averaged 19.4 ppr points in seven games prior to the Cooper trade and saw that number jump to 29.8 ppr points in the six games since the trade. Dak Prescott also saw a complete turnaround as he has improved from a 3-4 record, 62.1 completion percentage, 202.4 passing yards per game, an 87.4 passer rating and a 2:1 TD to INT ratio to a 5-1 record, a 74.1 percent completion percentage, 285.7 passing yards per game, a 105.7 passer rating and a 3:1 TD to INT ratio.
