The tight end position. No discourse about the tight end position in 2018 fantasy football can be had without highlighting the incredible attrition we have seen at the position due to injury. Coming into the campaign the tight end position was deemed to be as deep as it has ever been with no less than 18 potential startable options. Fast forward four weeks into the NFL and thus fantasy season and the position has become a wasteland. So far this season we have seen Delanie Walker lost for the season, Greg Olsen lost for multiple weeks, Hayden Hurst sit out the first four weeks of the season with an injury, Hunter Henry miss the entire season with the possibility of missing the entire campaign despite his speedy recovery, Jack Doyle has missed multiple weeks, Tyler Eifert has been lost for the season, popular week one waiver wire add Will Dissly has also been lost for the season, Evan Engram is set to miss 2-4 weeks and OJ Howard who was top three in tight end yardage after four weeks is also set to miss multiple weeks.

It really has been a crazy mess at the tight end position in regards to injuries, we will leave the incompetent and ineffective play from trendy offseason draft picks for another week. So without further adieu here are our constantly updated tight end rankings for week five of the 2018 fantasy football season.
