Remember just a few weeks ago when the tight end position seemed as deep as ever?
Three weeks later and the position is again paper thin as far as TE1’s are concerned, and the TE2 crop has been a bitter disappointment outside of Jared Cook. The first three weeks of the fantasy season has seen Delanie Walker lost for the season, Greg Olsen lost for at least a month, Hayden Hurst out for the first three games, Evan Engram go down and be expected to miss 2-4 weeks, David Njoku struggle and Trey Burton get Trubisky’d. With popular TE2’s such as Jack Doyle, Mike Gesicki and Austin Seferian-Jenkins also struggling the tight end position has once again become a fantasy wasteland and a position where having a consistent competent option can be the difference between winning or losing week to week.
These storylines and more are reflected in our week four tight end rankings. We will be updating our notes and rankings throughout the weekend so be sure to check back frequently for our latest thoughts.
