2018 has been a tumultuous one at the wide receiver position. From Amari Cooper disappearing for games at a time, to TY Hilton being grounded with Andrew Luck not all the way back, to Larry Fitzgerald being suffocated with Sam Bradford as his QB it has not been a good season for our supposed WR1’s. WR2 land has fared a little better as we have seen some ‘I’m no fluke’ breakouts including JuJu Smith-Schuster, Adam Thielen and Emmanuel Sanders. However WR2 land has also seen its share of disappointments including Corey Davis who has had to ride an uninspiring Titans QB carousel for the first three weeks of the season, to Doug Baldwin dealing with an MCL tear, Josh Gordon being inactive for two out of three games, Marquise Goodwin losing half of his value with Jimmy G lost for the season and Marvin Jones seeing Kenny Golladay pass him on the target totem pole in Detroit. There have been some quick risers but even the wide receiver position is looking like it is not nearly as deep as we thought just a few weeks ago.
With that said week four is almost upon us and it’s time again to break down the wide receivers and provide you our weekly rankings. There are no major surprises this week aside from the Vikings top two in Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen being a lot higher than we thought they would have been this week for Thursday Night Football as Aqib Talib and probably Marcus Peters will be missing what was supposed to be the most high powered and interesting mid-week prime time game in years.
