Rizzla discusses his running back rankings for week nine of the 2018 fantasy football season.
Week eight saw Marlon Mack prove all his doubters wrong as he handled a feature back amount of touches for the second straight week and became the first Colts running back since Edge to rush for 100 yards in consecutive weeks. Chris Carson continues to keep Rashaad Penny miles away from fantasy relevance as the rookie saw zero backfield snaps in week eight. Elsewhere backup types Peyton Barber and Devontae Booker had their best games of the season while Doug Martin looked solid on the ground for the Raiders and watched teammate Jalen Richard snare all eight of his targets.
Looking ahead to week nine Aaron Jones can finally claim a higher fantasy floor with Ty Montgomery sent to the Baltimore Ravens. Royce Freeman is still banged up which means Philip Lindsay will once again be given all the touches he can handle against the Houston Texans. James Conner again has at least one more week of fantasy relevance with Le’veon Bell still yet to sign his franchise tag. Finally as discussed in or column on the Ty Montgomery trade Jamaal Williams sees an uptick in fantasy value while Alex Collins and Javorius Allen now sport much lower fantasy floors.
