2018 Fantasy Football: Week Nine Tight End Rankings

Rizzla discusses his tight end rankings for week nine of the 2018 fantasy football season

I am not sure what happened in Cleveland in week eight but it did get Hue Jackson and Todd Haley fired so maybe not all is lost. David Njoku put up a stunning bagel in week eight, drawing exactly zero targets on the day. I would have fired Todd Haley too. Tight end was a weird one in week eight as the names counted among TE1’s based on fantasy points include Hayden Hurst, Jordan Thomas, Ed Dickson and Seth Devalve. None of these names aside from Hurst remain fantasy relevant outside of the deepest of leagues and just goes to show how much volatility the tight end position presents. Looking ahead to week nine, despite a heavy bye there are still solid options at the position including the aforementioned David Njoku who may just have a career game with rookie Baker Mayfield looking to make up for the unmitigated disaster in week eight. As always we will do our best to project the weekly ranking for this ever puzzling position. We will be updating our rankings up until kickoff Sunday afternoon so be sure to check back frequently for our latest updates and thoughts.
