Welcome to our week six edition of our IDP rankings.
This week we will take a look at the per game average leaders at each position.
At linebacker Darius Leonard, despite missing a game with an injury leads the NFL in total tackles and leads all linebackers with 9.5 solo tackles and 1.8 tackles for loss per game. Khalil Mack who has dual eligibility in the yahoo game leads all linebackers with 1.3 sacks per game and one forced fumble per game. Corey Littleton of the Los Angeles Rams leads all active linebackers with 1.2 passes defended per game, while Darron Lee and Kiko Alonso are tied with 0.4 interceptions per game.
At safety Budda Baker currently leads the NFL with 7.2 tackles per game while teammates Antoine Bethea and Tre Boston come in second and third at 7.0 and 6.2 respectively. Rookie sensation Derwin James leads all safeties with 0.8 tackles for loss and 0.6 sacks per game and has solidified his standing as the top dynasty league safety in the process. The Miami Dolphins Reshad Jones remains a DB1 option and leads all active safeties with 1.3 passes defended and 0.7 interceptions per game. Impressive Houston Texans defensive back Kareem Jackson leads all safeties with 0.4 forced fumbles and has forced himself onto fantasy rosters at safety and defensive back despite the position switch.
At cornerback the Carolina Panthers’ Donte Jackson leads all cornerbacks with 5.8 solo tackles and 0.8 interceptions per game while the Baltimore Ravens Tavon Young leads the way with 0.6 tackles for loss and 0.4 sacks per game. The Kansas City Chiefs Orlando Scandrick leads all corners with 1.8 passes defended per game while Ryan Lewis of the Buffalo Bills leasa the way with 0.7 forced fumbles per game.
Khalil Mack leads all defensive ends with one forced fumble per game and is joined by Takk McKinley and Jason Pierre-Paul with 1.3 sacks per game. JPP also leads the way in solo tackles with 5.3 per game, while Mack is tied with the Bengals Michael Johnson with 0.3 picks per game. The Indianapolis Colts surprising Margus Hunt leads all ends with 2.3 tackles for loss per game and has made himself a fantasy relevant DE2/DT1. The Cleveland Browns Emmanuel Ogbah leads the way with 1.3 passes defended per game.
At defensive tackle Margus Hunt leads the way with 2.3 tackles for loss per game while the Tennessee Titans Jurrell Casey leads all tackles with 3.2 solos per game where he is tied with the Seahawks Jarran Reed. All-pro Geno Atkins leads the way with 1.2 sacks per game while the Jaguars Abry Jones is the current leader with 0.7 passes defended per game. Finally Akiem Hicks of the Chicago Bears terrorizing defense leads all defensive tackles with 0.5 forced fumbles per game.
As expected the per game leaders do indeed factor into our weekly rankings but as always we will be looking at and projecting the current matchup on tap which is why some of said leaders may be ranked lower than one would expect based on their in season numbers after five weeks of the season.
