The wide receiver position while not as deep from a fantasy perspective as originally thought has produced plenty of fireworks thus far this season. After five weeks in the books we have seen post-merger history be made by undrafted fifth year wide receiver Adam Thielen who has become the first player to record five consecutive 100 yard receiving games to open the season. Thelien also leads the NFL in receptions after five weeks sitting at 47 while Michael Thomas who has seen only nine combined targets the past two weeks after averaging thirteen per game the first three weeks of the season, sits at 46 receptions. Deandre Hopkins leads all receivers with 594 receiving yards and a 118.8 yards per game mark. Week five itself saw Keke Coutee prove to the fantasy world that his week four was no fluke while Packers rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling burst onto the scene with 68 yards and a touchdown while narrowly missing a second score by half a yard. Amari Cooper continues to struggle with Derek Carr and John Gruden and has fallen from offseason WR1 to a WR3, albeit with mega upside, matchup play. These storylines and more are reflected in our week six wide receiver rankings. As always we will be updating them until kickoff so be sure to check back frequently for our latest notes and thoughts.
