Rizzla presents his tight end rankings for championship weeks and takes a look at the surprising names that ranked as TE1’s in week fifteen.
The tight end position has been a wild one in 2018 and week fifteen was no different with three of the top six tight ends not even being roster considerations in anything but 20 plus team two tight end formats.
The TE1’s for week fifteen were as follows:
Evan Engram 15.5
Garrett Celek 14.1
Trey Burton 13.6
Travis Kelce 13.1
Chris Manhertz 12.0
Jeremy Sprinkle 10.9
Gerald Everett 9.6
Antonio Gates 9.4
Vance McDonald 9.3
Blake Jarwin 8.5
Chris Herndon IV 8.3
Matt LaCosse 8.3
George Kittle 8.1
This week the highest scoring tight end was Evan Engram and even though he had a fantastic performance relative to expectations he still scored less points than the WR12 of semi finals week.
As the above list suggests the tight end position has been a complete roll of the dice week to week, making selecting the right tight end for championship week all the more critical.
As always we will be updating our rankings up until kickoff Saturday and Sunday so be sure to check back frequently for our latest updates and thoughts.
