There were rumblings that the Suns were content with the notion of Dragic as Steve Nash’s heir apparent but apparently that was not the case after all.
The Houston Rockets on the other hand were looking to divest themselves of Aaron Brooks after Kyle Lowry showed that he is a better fit in their system and that he is more versatile than Brooks.
The Suns won this trade from a player value standpoint as having the offensively potent Brooks may finally allow the Suns to show some mercy and ship Steve Nash to a contender this summer.
Fantasy Impact:
Aaron Brooks will sit behind Steve Nash and hopefully learn to play a little more controlled and learn to stop taking bad shots and turning the ball over. He has no fantasy value unless Steve Nash goes down with an injury.
Goran Dragic will be backing up Kyle Lowry and should provide some decent minutes off the bench for the Rockets. He will not threaten to start but will provide a steady and controlled hand at the point.
Kyle Lowry is now the unquestioned starter for the Rockets and will remain in that role unless he continues to shoot poorly from the field. Lowry is the type of player who can threaten for a triple double on any given night and he needs to be owned in all leagues. He is currently still available in 34% of Yahoo! leagues.
