Al Jefferson to the Jazz Fantasy Impact
Al Jefferson sees a significant upgrade joining the Jazz to play alongside all-star talent in Deron Williams. He should settle in at around 22 ppg and 11 rpg and become a top-20 fantasy player save for his poor free-throw shooting.
AJ is a curious fit for the Jazz’ offense but D-Will is a special point guard and will help acclimate Al Jefferson sooner than later. Look for AJ to finally start getting some recognition for his stellar game.
Mehmet Okur sees a value decrease. With Boozer commited to the Bulls there was a moment when Okur and Millsap were the Jazz’ top big men and that would have provided both bigs with a significant value increase. Okur now figures to be the first big off the bench, a role that probably suits him more at this stage in his career but only serves to hurt his fantasy value.
Paul Millsap figured to become a daily fantasy starter with Boozer heading the Bulls but now qualifies more as a flex option. Millsap should still start and put up a double-double but his potential is limited by Al Jefferson’s presence.
Deron WIlliams should not miss a beat and may actually improve a bit with a big like AJ as opposed to Boozer. AJ is more of a power big and that is the type of big man point guards usually covet. Deron Williams is now on the first round bubble.
