Alexander Green is one of the most underrated running backs in the entire 2011 NFL draft class.
And the Green Bay Packers know it.
Coming out of Hawaii averaging a ridiculous 8.2 yards per carry with a 40-time of 4.45 at 6’0 and 225 lbs, someone is going to get fired for passing on Green.
Green enters a crowded backfield as Ryan Grant is expected to return to play out the final season of his contract.
We expect Green to immediately carve out a third down role and to push James Starks in a battle to own the lead back role in 2012.
We tentatively expect Green to be third on the running back depth chart to start the season while moving up to the second spot by late season.
Fantasy Impact:
We do not project much of a fantasy impact for Alexander Green in 2011 barring an injury.
He has the makings of an every-down back in the NFL and should be one of the top targets in the 2nd round of dynasty league rookie drafts.
While we have him pegged as a passing down specialist in 2011 he does indeed have the talent to make a move up the depth chart even without an injury to Ryan Grant or James Starks.
He is an intriguing dynasty league stash especially because he plays for the defending champion Green Bay Packers.
