Anthony Randolph: Fantasy Bball Playoff Pickup

1

Anthony Randolph has finally become fantasy-relevant.  Since being inserted into the Minnesota starting lineup, AR has put up big numbers.

Against the Dallas Mavericks last Thursday, he finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.  Okay so that must be an outlier right? Well on Saturday, Randolph had another monster game against the Oklahoma City Thunder – 24 points, 15 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.

A bench-warmer for most the season, as a member of the Knicks, the trade the Minnesota did not seem like much of an improvement, considering the talented forwards (Michael Beasley and Kevin Love)  already solidified in the lineup.  But Anthony Randolph has once again proven that when given the minutes, he is a fantasy beast.

Two years ago around the same time of the year, I had picked him off the waiver wire (as a member of the Golden State Warriors) and his production helped me dominate the block, steal and rebound categories all the way to a fantasy championship.  Perhaps AR is trying to become the Robert Horry of Fantasy Basketball –  a player that only becomes relevant once the fantasy playoffs begin.

The Timberwolves are well out of NBA playoff contention, meaning that they have no reason to rush Kevin Love back on to the court. I would advise fantasy owners in all league formats to pick Randolph up.
