Joe Johnson out 4-6 weeks: Pick up Maurice Evans in Deeper Fantasy Leagues

Hawks All-Star Joe Johnson underwent successful elbow surgery on Thursday and is expected to miss up to six weeks. On December 1, the Atlanta Hawks stated that Johnson would need surgery to remove a “loose body” in the elbow. Johnson admitted that the elbow had been causing discomfort throughout the season. This could be the reason for his decreased production this year.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater Dec. 1-Devin Harris out, VC returns

Devin Harris injured his knee in last night’s game after teammate Kris Humpries landed awkwardly on him. Stay tuned for an update the MRI scheduled for Wednesday. Given the injury history of Harris, there is a good chance that he misses a chunk of games. Jordan Farmar becomes at short term pickup (until the severity is known) as he will take over as the Nets starting point guard if Harris misses any time.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater for Nov. 30th – Carl Landry and Nicolas Batum benched

Matthews is slated to start on Tuesday night alongside Brandon Roy and Andre Miller, while Batum will come off the bench. Batum has superior defensive abilities, but Matthews provides more of an offensive threat. He can score with the best of them and he will have a greater opportunity as a starter, for now. Check if Matthews is available in your league as many had dropped him once Brandon Roy had returned.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater Nov. 26 – Delonte West out, Rajon Rondo day-to-day

It has been reported that Delonte West has broken his wrist and could miss up to three months. Until the Celtics find another backup point guard is found, Nate Robinson is a pickup in deeper leagues. Over the past week, Robinson has averaged 12.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 2 three-pointers per game. With Rondo still injured, the two-time Slam Dunk champion is worth a short-term look.

Fantasy Basketball Buzzer Beater Nov. 23rd – Top Rookies, Milicic’s career week, and injury updates

Vince Carter left Monday’s game against the Spurs with a knee injury. If he misses any time, J.J. Redick would likely start in his place. The real winner could be Mickael Pietrus, who would get a bump in minutes from any VC absence. Pietrus has been productive whenever he has been given the minutes, which have been inconsistent. I would hold off on picking up Pietrus or Redick until we hear more as Carter has been known to take himself out of the game, only to return the next night.
