Brandon Jackson is the Packers new starter: Ryan Grant done for the year
Ryan Grant is done for the year and Brandon Jackson is the Green Bay Packers new feature back. Coach John McCarthy has repeatedly said that he has full confidence in Brandon Jackson as a feature back so we don’t expect a trade to address this position.
Brandon Jackson is a must-add if he is still on your wire or if you play with weekly waivers. Jackson will be a stud the rest of the way barring a roster addition as his most credible threat James Starks is still not healthy.
Ryan Grant has likely played his last game as a Packer as he is reaching 28 and his contract expires after this season.
If you drafted Ryan Grant your season may be over unless you have substantial depth or you are/were able to land Brandon Jackson.
We recommend also stashing away James Starks in dynasty leagues as the Packers already started talking about Starks being their potential running back of the future this preseason. He is eligible to come off of the PUP list week 6.
Brandon Jackson is a terrific pass catcher and may be even more valuable than Ryan Grant would have been, especially in PPR leagues. We expect him to amass 1,000+ rushing yards and 6-8 all-purpose scores.
