Coughlin is doing nothing more than stating the obvious after Jacobs only racked up 147 carries on the whole season but managed a career best 5.6 yards per carry.
It is little surpise than Jacobs bounced back in a big way on the yards per carry front after a dissapointing injury riddled 2009 campaign that saw him average a pedestrian 3.7 yards per carry.
This statement by Coughlin has been interpreted by some as a message to free agent Ahmad Bradshaw, but whether or not Bradshaw is back in a Giants uniform in 2011 Jacobs stillfigures to see 200+ carries on the season.
If Bradshaw is back Jacobs has the makings of being a solid draft day sleeper.
This news also makes Jacobs a solid buy-low candidate in dynasty leagues as his value is at an all-time low.
Stay tuned throughout the off-season for updates on the Giants backfield situation.
