Where does Alfred Morris finish among fantasy running backs this season?
Rizzla: After finishing as a top five option last season I have Alfred Morris finishing as a top seven option this season. I expect Ray Rice and Trent Richardson to also vie for top five finishes which is why I have “safely” ranked Morris as a top seven option. Morris will be more involved in the passing game this season and will see his fantasy value spike as a result.
Jhas: I have Alfred Morris finishing in the top 8 among Running Backs. But he could easily creep into the top five if a few high risk-high reward players like Arian Foster are injured for a prolonged period or if Ray Rice ends up in more of a timeshare with Bernard Pierce.
Which first round running back are you most leery of?
Rizzla: The easy answer here would be Arian Foster who is dealing with injuries as well as a motivated Ben Tate. But I have two other 1st round running backs on my do not draft list, C.J Spiller and Jamaal Charles. These are two of the most explosive running backs in the NFL without a question but both pose an injury risk I do not like to see in my 1st round pick. Charles returned from an ACL tear to post career highs in touches so my fear here is probably unfounded but C.J Spiller needs to prove he can handle a full workload over 16 games before I am ready to burn a 1st round draft pick on him, especially in non-PPR.
Jhas: I am most concerned with Arian Foster and when he will be returning to action after sitting out the entire preseason. If Maurice Jones-Drew is the biggest friend of fantasy (remembering how he apologized to his fantasy owners when he took a knee at the 1-yard line to run out the clock), then Foster is the biggest enemy of fantasy football. He seems to take pride in hiding his true health status with the fantasy football community. And right now, it looks like Ben Tate will get more rushes for Houston in week 1, with week 2 being uncertain.
