Which wideout currently being drafted as a WR2 or lower (ADP15) has the best chance to crack the top-15?
Rizzla: The names that immediately come to mind with the highest ceilings are Hakeem Nicks, Kenny Britt and even Pierre Garcon, all whom have the talent to finish the season as a top-15 option. With that said Nicks and Britt must shake off the injury risk tag and play all sixteen games, while we all know Garcon will be playing hurt all season albeit with WR1 upside when he is on the field. My pick here is Torrey Smith as he seems to have the highest floor coming off of a 110 target, 8 TD season. I expect Smith to crack 1,000 yards receiving and double digit scores as Joe Flacco’s number one and number two target.
Jhas: Pierre Garcon and Miles Austin immediately come to mind. Garcon was amazing when healthy last year, so I expect big things from the RG3-Garcon combination this year. Dez Bryant will be commanding double teams in Dallas, so a now healthy Miles Austin should benefit and have a big rebound season. At the same time, you could argue Austin is the 3rd option after Bryant and Jason Witten. Considering that Dallas is expected to have a weak offensive line, Tony Romo may not have enough time to check down to his 3rd receiver on many occasions. The Washington Redskins look to have a much more balanced offense with teams looking to stop QB Robert Griffin III and RB Alfred Morris. I expect Garcon to crack 1,000 yards in his first healthy season as RG3’s number one target.
Chris Givens, T.Y Hilton or Michael Floyd who posts the better numbers this season?
Rizzla: While Floyd and Hilton both have monster upside Givens is the only name out of the sophomores mentioned who is his teams top wideout. I expect Floyd to crack 1,000 yards and close to 80 receptions while I expect Hilton to have another 800+ yard, 6+ TD campaign behind DHB but Chris Givens has 1,200 yard, double digit score upside as Sam Bradford’s number one target and deep threat.
Jhas: All WR’s have the talent to progress, but I think Chris Givens will finish with the best fantasy line. With only Tavon Austin to challenge for touches in the Rams receiving core, Givens should be getting a big increase of targets in 2013-14. T.Y. Hilton may be knocked down to third on the Indy WR depth chart behind Reggie Wayne and Heyward-Bay, while Michael Floyd will play second fiddle to Larry Fitzgerald.
