Definite ‘Players in New Places’ Fantasy Upgrade for Raymond Felton

Felton is joining a team that was second in 3-point attempts with over 26 per game. He will benefit by playing alongside the 3-point specialist Danilo Gallinari and with one of the top finishers in Amare Stoudemire. Amare’s ability to draw the double team (Felton has never played with a dominating Power Forward) will open up some shots for the South Carolina native. Ray Felton is no Steve Nash, but Coach D’Antoni will still be calling Ray-Amare pick and roll plays, resulting in some easy assists for the Point Guard.

Does Trevor Ariza get a fantasy Upgrade?

Being the fourth option and having CP3 at the point will give him ample open shots, thereby increasing his efficiency. Look for him to maintain his 2 three-pointers per game but with a much better field goal percentage. Thanks to the lack of depth on the Hornets, (his only threat to a reduction in minutes is from the immobile Stojakovic), Ariza will provide very solid contributions in threes, rebounds and steals.

RB Sleeper: Lau-Money gets no respect.

Averaging almost 4 yards per carry, Maroney finished last season with 856 total yards and 9 touchdowns. Some may argue he was lucky because several scores came as a result of goal line carries. We, on the other hand are encouraged by the fact that the Patriots trusted Maroney with their key Redzone run plays. His handcuff threats are often-injured, 34 year old, Fred Taylor, followed by 33 year old Sammy Morris and 3rd down back Kevin Faulk. Maroney is easily the youngest and most explosive of the bunch and should be the undisputed starter in September.
