Rizzla discusses his top cost per projected point (CPP) plays for daily fantasy football this week at FanDuel.

With the weekend’s games almost upon we take a look at the top cost per projected point plays this week in FanDuel contests.

Jameis Winston ($321 CPP, $7,800 salary)

Despite a disappointing week seven in the touchdown department Winston has posted back to back 300 yard performances and promises more of the same this week against a Bengals defense giving up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Our top CPP play this week at $321 per projected point, our fourth overall quarterback for week eight has a reasonable $7,800 salary that ranks 13th among signal callers. One of the few games this week that Vegas has pegged with a high total this contest comes in at 54.5 total which suggests there should be plenty of scoring opportunities for Jameis, especially considering the current state of the Buccaneers ground game.

Travis Kelce ($505 CPP, $7,300 salary)

First in our rankings this week Kelce is our top CPP play of the week at $505 per projected point. Despite a high price tag of $7,300 Kelce promises big returns this week against a Denver Broncos defense he had one of his best games of the season against in week four. Kelce torched the Broncos for seven receptions, 77 yards and a touchdown and could be in line for an even bigger day with a home date at Arrowhead in what is expected to be a shootout.

Our top play at running back this weekend plays in the night slate (Mark Ingram $422 CPP) so we will focus on our top afternoon and evening plays. This is another week at FanDuel where two of our top backs also turn out to be our top values.

Todd Gurley ($427 CPP, $11,000 salary)

While the Green Bay Packers rank as a mid tier run defense in terms of fantasy points allowed they have surrendered an average of 5.55 yards per carry to Jordan Howard, Matt Breida, Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson while stymying struggling backs like Dalvin Cook and LeSean McCoy. Gurley’s $11,000 salary looks meant to scare owners off but Gurley seems destined for another monster day and at a $427 CPP is our number two overall value for this week at running back. The Rams are heavily favored in this one and if Vegas’ line holds true there should be plenty of opportunity for Gurley to rack up volume both on the ground and through the air. Our top overall running back for week eight

Joe Mixon ($425 CPP, $7800 salary)

Breakout running back Joe Mixon is our top ranked CPP play this week at $425 per projected point. Squaring off this week against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense surrendering the fifth most fantasy points to opposing running backs this could be the week the Bengals finally commit to the run. Too often has one of the most talented backs in the league become an afterthought even when games are still close but Mixon still ranks sixth in the NFL with 77.2 rushing yards per game. Our sixth overall running back for week eight Mixon comes in with a $7,800 price tag which places him 12th among running backs in FanDuel salary rank.

Antonio Brown ($416 CPP; $8,800 salary)

Third in salary rank at a price tag of $8,800, our number two overall receiver for week eight Antonio Brown is also one of our top two CPP plays of the week at $416 per projected point. Squaring off against a Browns defense surrendering the tenth most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers Brown will look to surpass his previous outing against the Browns. Brown went off for nine receptions, 93 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers-Browns week one tie and should be in line for a bigger game with Big Ben traditionally playing better at home.

Jordy Nelson ($403 CPP; $5,300 salary)

Coming on strong fantasy wise even before the Amari Cooper trade, Jordy Nelson is now is now the Oakland Raiders number one receiver. Nelson is 14th among wide receivers with 2.33 fantasy points per target which serves of an indication of his potential upside given a larger role on offense. Our 18th overall receiver for week eight Nelson’s $5,300 salary is slotted in at 56th overall based on FanDuel salary rank. This is a tough matchup on paper against a Indianapolis Colts defense who comes in this week top ten in limiting opponents wide receiver fantasy points, but a deeper dive into the numbers reveals the Colts have given up huge games to AJ Green, Deandre Hopkins, Keke Coutee and even Jermaine Kearse. Nelson should find plenty of room to operate in this one and should find paydirt once again in week eight.
