Rizzla discusses the top cost per projected point (CPP) plays for week eleven of the 2018 fantasy football season.
Despite six teams being on bye this week this is one of the strongest player pools during the byes this season. This week features zero ranked QB1’s on bye, one RB1, zero WR1’s and two TE1’s. With that in mind finding the right opportunities to exploit in setting your lineups is even more paramount than ever. Unfortunately the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs play on Monday but there are still more options than usual with teams like the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins among the six teams on bye. At this point in the season only two of the teams mentioned boast any consistent week to week fantasy difference makers; one is a rookie running back and the other is a tight end.
Cam Newton ($315 CPP; $8,600 salary)
My top overall quarterback for week eleven, Cam Newton is our top CPP play for the week against a Detroit Lions defense surrendering the thirteenth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Second in terms of FanDuel salary rank at a $8,600 price tag, Netwon looks to be in line to have a big day against an impressive at times but still struggling Lions defense. The Lions have been beat up on the ground week after week giving up an average of over 125 rushing yards per contest adding further fuel to the strength of a Newton play. Second worst in the league in opponents yards per attempt (8.89) Newton should find success both through the air and on the ground against the Lions.
Zach Ertz ($499 CPP; $7,800 salary)
The New Orleans Saints have been rock solid against tight ends this year but Zach Ertz is no ordinary tight end. Arguably functioning as his teams top receiver Ertz has as almost as many receptions per game (8.3) as number two fantasy tight end Travis Kelce has targets (8.6). Ertz is destined to go off in this contest as he will undoubtedly rack up volume. Golden Tate being more familiar with the playbook should actually help create some extra space for Ertz in the middle of the field as opposing defenses will now be forced to account for someone other than just Ertz and Alshon Jeffery. While the Saints have been solid against tight ends this season they have actually been poor against the pass giving up the fifth most passing yards per game with 311 and the seventh most touchdowns per with 2.1, cementing Ertz’ true appeal in this weeks matchup.
David Johnson ($360 CPP; $7,900 salary)
The surging David Johnson has a dream matchup this weekend versus a hapless Oakland Raiders defense surrendering the fourth most fantasy points to enemy running backs. The Raiders have been giving up a ton of volume to this position, as they come into this contest giving up 25.1 carries per game for 128.4 rushing yards (second most) and 0.9 touchdowns on the ground to go along with 3.7 receptions for 41.2 receiving yards and 0.3 touchdowns through the air. Suffice it to say based on the information above David Johnson has been blessed with one of the best matchups any running back could face in the NFL. Our third overall running back for week eleven, DJ is our top CPP play at $360 per projected point. Johnson’s $7,900 salary places him ninth among running backs, a price point that offers tremendous potential value.
Saquon Barkley ($397 CPP; $8,800 salary)
Somehow fourth in salary rank at a $8,800 price tag despite facing a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense relinquishing the ninth most fantasy points to opposing running backs, Saquon Barkley is set to light up the fantasy scoreboards this weekend. The Bucs have given up 4.78 yards per carry, 5.5 receptions, 59.7 receiving yards per game and 1.75 total touchdowns to the RB1’s they have faced this season and will likely have zero answer for someone as dynamic as Saquon. The Bucs gave up massive games in the receiving departments to Tarik Cohen and Alvin Kamara (7-121 and 9-112 respectively) giving Saquon a seemingly easy path to over 150 yards from scrimmage in a contest he should find the end zone at least once in.
John Brown ($405 CPP; $5,400 salary)
Currently sitting pretty as my fourteenth overall receiver for week eleven, John Brown has a great matchup versus a Cincinnati Bengals defense giving up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. John Brown went off in week four against the Bengals for 92 receiving yards and a touchdown and could replicate some of the same success as the banged up Bengals defense that will be focused on trying to stop the ground attack led by Lamar Jackson and Alex Collins. Brown is our number two CPP play of the week at a $405 per projected point based mainly on the strength of his bargain basement $5,400 price tag.
Antonio Brown ($393 CPP; $8,500 salary)
Our number one overall receiver for week eleven, Antonio Brown has a daunting matchup against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense allowing the fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Deeper analysis reveals that the Jags have allowed six receptions and 74 receiving yards per game to the WR1’s they have faced this season. Adding more appeal to this matchup is the fact AB torched Ramsey for an average of 8.5 receptions, 144.5 receiving yards and a touchdown per game in their two meetings last season. Brown has been on a massive roll this season finding the end zone in all but one contest and will look to continue to let the good times flow this weekend.
