Out of the playoffs? Need to fill your fantasy fix? Daily fantasy sports may be your answer. There are great DFS providers such as DraftKings that offer competitions of all sizes and at many different entrance fee price points. This week we will focus our discussion on the top cost per projected point (CPP) plays for week fifteen at DraftKings.

Daily Fantasy Football: Week Fifteen at DraftKings

Dak Prescott ($263 CPP; $5,500 salary)

The scorching hot Dak Prescott looks to have a solid matchup this weekend against a Indianapolis Colts defense relinquishing the eighteenth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. The Colts have allowed 257.6 passing yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game to the quarterback position but those numbers skyrocket to an average of 327.6 yards and two touchdowns per game to the top-15 fantasy quarterbacks they have faced this season. As mentioned above Prescott has been on fire recently as he has averaged an uncharacteristic 331 yards and two touchdowns per game over his last three contests making Dak a solid high upside play especially when his $5,500 price tag and $263 cost per projected point are taken into account.

Kenneth Dixon ($276 CPP; $3,500 salary)

If you did not already notice, Kenneth Dixon is a more talented all around running back than Gus Edwards and has a solid matchup against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense giving up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Dixon is a broken tackle monster as he leads the NFL in missed tackles forced per carry since 2016 and has been top five in the metric every year since he entered the league in 2014 and is sure to pick up plenty of yards after contact against the Bucs injury ravaged defensive front. The Bucs have allowed 20.4 carries, 93.9 yards and 1.1 rushing touchdowns with 5.7 receptions, 49.7 receiving yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game to the running back position on the season giving Dixon solid upside even if he sees less snaps than Edwards. Dixon has been increasing his snap share on a weekly basis and saw 23 snaps in week fourteen compared to 31 for Gus Edwards but ran at a higher yards per carry clip (7.4 to 4.6), found the end zone and saw the only target between the two in the passing game. Dixon is a solid value play as our number two CPP play of the week.

Joe Mixon ($260 CPP; $6,100 salary)

Our fourth overall running back for week fifteen, Joe Mixon will do battle against a Oakland Raiders defense giving up the thirteenth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Number two in the NFL with fifteen breakaway runs Joe Mixon has a plus matchup against a team allowing 4.8 yards per carry, 159.6 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown per game to the running back position on per game to the running back position giving Mixon monster upside in this contest. Boosting Mixon’s appeal this week is the fact that he has been much better on the ground at home this season where he averages 85.1 rushing yards at 5.3 yards per carry making Mixon a value play through most any lens.

Dante Pettis ($309 CPP; $4,400 salary)

Impressive rookie receiver Dante Pettis has what appears to be a plus matchup against a Seattle Seahawks defense surrendering the thirteenth most fantasy points to opposing wideouts. The Seahawks have surrendered 11.9 receptions, 162.8 yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game to the wide receiver position on the season giving Pettis solid potential floor. Further solidifying Pettis’ upside in this matchup is the fact that he is expected to once again do battle with cornerback Tre Flowers who he burned for a career game with five receptions, 129 yards and two touchdowns in week thirteen and will now have the benefit of playing at home. At a $4,400 price tag Pettis is sure to be a frequent play this week in tournaments but remains a strong play for multiple lineup managers and cash game players.

Mike Evans ($360 CPP; $6,700 salary)

Mike Evans has a tough road ahead against a Baltimore Ravens defense relinquishing the third fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers and just 11.1 receptions, 130.4 yards and 0.7 touchdowns per game to the position on the season. The Ravens have allowed 5.85 receptions, 74.1 yards and 0.85 touchdowns per game to the WR1 types they have faced this season suggesting that Evans could shape up as a solid value this week. Evans has put up five receptions and 96.5 receiving yards per game on the road this season and should be moved around the field to actively avoid lining up against Marlon Humphrey who has held receivers in check to the tune of NFL low 43.3 percent catch rate.

Vance McDonald ($365 CPP; $3,900 salary)

My eighth overall receiver for week fifteen, Vance McDonald has a solid matchup versus a New England Patriots defense allowing the thirteenth most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. The Pats have given 4.8 receptions, 56.9 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game to the tight end position giving McDonald a high potential floor in a contest the Steelers may be looking to the short middle of the field more often than usual as the Pats have allowed a 68.5 percent catch rate and 7.45 yards per attempt on targets to that area.
