Daily Fantasy Football: Week Seven at DraftKings – GPP Values

0

With Sunday’s game just mere hours away we are excited to bring you our second ever installment of DraftKings GPP Values, this time for week seven of the 2018 fantasy football season. The impetus of this piece is to identify potential value plays by juxtaposing our rankings with DraftKings’ salary based rankings.

Drew Brees is our sixth overall QB for week seven but slots in as the 18th overall QB based on salary over at DraftKings. Brees does have a tough matchup on paper this week against a strong Ravens defensive unit who have allowed the least amount of fantasy points to opposing QB’s. However a deeper dive into the number reveals that the Ravens have only faced two good QB’s all season; one, Andy Dalton shredded them for four passing touchdowns and zero interceptions while the other in Big Ben looked disinterested and struggled in a loss with 274 yards one touchdown and one pick. Brees looks like a sneaky GPP value at $5,700 you may want to deploy when looking for a GPP ‘dart’.

Sony Michel was one of our featured CPP plays of the week and is also one of our top GPP rank v. rank values. Michel is our eighth ranked running back for week seven while he slotted in at only 15th overall at DK based on his $5,500 salary. The salary makers are going to catch on eventually, so take advantage of the bargain prices while you can.

Kerryon Johnson our 15th overall ranked running back sports a salary rank of 28th overall against a burnable Dolphins defense giving up the sixth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. With Theo Riddick ruled out and the promising rookie sitting at a bargain $4,500 salary, Johnson is one of the top GPP values of the week.

Nick Chubb is slotted as the 53rd overall running back based on a $3,600 salary over at DraftKings but is out 18th ranked back for week seven. One of our featured CPP plays of the week Chubb is likely to be such a hot name for Sunday’s contest following the late week trade of Carlos Hyde that the ‘sharps’ will look to fade him. Slated to get the start this weekend versus a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense surrendering the ninth most fantasy points to opposing running backs Chubb is in a position to claim his place as the second best runner in the 2018 draft class.

Ranked 24th based on overall salary at DraftKings Josh Gordon, who was one of our featured cost per projected point plays this week, has actually been moved up two spots with news Rob Gronkowski is set to miss Sunday’s contest against the Bears becoming confirmed. Gordon is our tenth overall receiver against a Bears defense surprisingly surrendering the seventh most fantasy points to the wide receiver position. At only $5,600 Gordon should have a spot in at least one of your GPP lineups.

Our 21st ranked receiver for week seven Taylor Gabriel sits at a solid $427 cost per projected point and at a $4,700 salary that places him 36th in salary rank Gabriel is shaping up to be a potential tremendous value. Allen Robinson is dealing with a nagging groin injury and is likely to see a lot of Stephen Gilmore leaving Gabriel to make his fantasy mark in what is expected to be a high scoring affair. The Patriots are a middle of the road defense against the pass and have proven to have trouble stopping the short passing game where Gabriel excels. Gabriel is a solid plug and play if looking for value options at wide receiver.

Albert Wilson is our 22nd overall receiver for week seven but with a price of only $4,000 he places 53rd based on salary rank. Second in the NFL with 0.80 fantasy points per route Wilson is set for another big day with Brock Osweiler under center once again for the Miami Dolphins. One of our featured cost per projected point plays Wilson looks like a strong play with palpable upside at his price tag.

A crisp route runner with high football IQ Keke Coutee should feast this Sunday with Deandre Hopkins and Will Fuller having to contend with Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye. Coutee checks in this week as our 30th overall receiver while his price tag of $4,300 places him 48th among wideouts. Look for Coutee to see close to ten targets while routinely working the middle of the field for Deshaun Watson.

The New Orleans Saints’ Tre’quan Smith is a solid dart play this week due to his bargain $3,700 salary. Our 36th ranked receiver for week seven Smith sits at 61st at his position based on salary rank. With Ted Ginn placed on IR and Cameron Meredith still working his way back to full speed Smith could be in line for another monster game this week. Roll with Smith with confidence in a game that could cement him as a permanent upside monster catching passes from Drew Brees.

Jermaine Kearse had a mini breakout in week six and with Quincy Enunwa sidelined for at least a few weeks and Terrelle Pryor released, Kearse is in line to play the possession receiver role for the New Yorks Jets. Expected to be dragged into a shootout by a high powered Vikings offense Kearse should sniff plenty of PPR goodness. At a salary of only $4,100 Kearse ranks 50th based on salary at DraftKings this week while we have him pegged as our 39th overall receiver. Roll with Kearse where needed.

Willie Snead has been a solid PPR asset this season and with a date with his former team on tap this weekend you can be sure there will be some fireworks. Snead is our 41st overall receiver this week while sitting at a $4,000 price tag he sits 51st overall based on salary rank. The Saints have given up the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers on the season and could very well be victimized by their former teammate.

Hayden Hurst is our 15th overall tight end this week with a plus matchup on tap this week against a burnable New Orleans Saints secondary. This looks to be the week Hurst finally has his mini breakout as he is expected to see a season high in both snaps, routes run and targets. Hurst is a low floor option but at a 24th overall $2,400 salary Hurst provides solid fantasy upside for those looking to stuff a few elite, high priced options in their GPP lineups.
