Daily Fantasy Football: Week Twelve at FanDuel

Rizzla discusses the top cost per projected point (CPP) plays for week twelve at FanDuel.

Although only two teams are on bye this week, eight other teams are off the board with the three games played on Thanksgiving and the Monday night slate.

Andrew Luck ($326 CPP; $8,400 Salary)

A red hot Andrew Luck squares off this week against a Miami Dolphins defense relinquishing the sixth fewest fantasy points to opposing signal callers. With 24 touchdowns over his past seven contests, Andrew Luck is a matchup proof as they come. As always just glancing at fantasy points against does not tell the whole story as a deep dive into the Dolphins numbers reveals that the Fins have faced only three QB1’s all season surrendering a cool 3.33 touchdowns per game in those contests. With Vegas currently pegging the total in this one at 51 we can expect Luck to extend his three plus touchdown streak to eight games and to produce plenty of fantasy goodness along the way. Our top CPP play of the week at $326 per projected point, Luck’s $8,400 price tag is a solid value when the above information is considered. Luck is our number two overall QB play for week twelve and should be strongly considered if you are looking for a high floor option at QB.

Melvin Gordon ($390 CPP; $8,900 Salary)

Our top overall running back for week twelve Melvin Gordon continues to impress and has a tasty matchup on tap this week against a Arizona Cardinals defense surrendering the fourth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Also our top CPP play this week at $390 per projected point, Gordon comes in number two in terms of salary rank at a $8,900 price tag. The salary itself does not present a value here but her cost per point indeed does. As thirteen point favorites playing at home the Chargers will likely look to run out the clock if they are indeed holding a double digit lead in the fourth quarter as Vegas has prognosticated, giving Gordon plenty of additional upside.

Gus Edwards ($417 CPP; $5,300 Salary)

Our seventeenth overall running back for week twelve, Gus Edwards has a dream macthup on deck this week with an Oakland Raiders defense giving up a robust 4.8 yards per carry and a league leading 131 rushing yards per game to enemy backs. Allowing the sixth most fantasy points to opposing running backs the Raiders present an opportunity for Edwards to cross the 100 yard barrier and find the end zone for the second straight week. At a $417 cost per projected point, Edwards is our number two overall CPP play for week twelve and should threaten RB1 numbers as the ‘smash’ to Lamar Jackson’s ‘dash’. Edwards is destined to be a popular play this week and for good reason; fade him if you are a single lineup player looking for contrarian plays but multiple lineup managers should avoid him at their own peril.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($446 CPP; $5,200 Salary)

After a brutal outing in week eleven our number two CPP play of the week, Marquez-Valdes Scantling will look to bounce back against one of the toughest defenses the NFL has to offer in the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings defense is allowing the fourth fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers on the season making this a matchup one may want to shy away from at first glance. A deeper analysis reveals that Xavier Rhodes is expected to draw Davante Adams for the majority of the day leaving MVS to do battle in a plus slot matchup with Mackenzie Alexander. Alexander has allowed an 85 percent catch rate in coverage as per PFF and presents a favorable matchup as per their WR/CB advantage metric. MVS is our 22nd overall receiver for week twelve and is faster, taller, bigger and stronger than Mackenzie and should see a rebound performance on Sunday Night Football making his $5,200 price tag look like a potential bargain.

Odell Beckham Jr. ($396 CPP; $8,500 Salary)

Although he was held in check by the Eagles in their last meeting (6-44) the Philadelphia Eagles have been absolutely atrocious when it comes to stopping wideouts. Relinquishing the second most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers the Eagles have given up a resounding 7.6 receptions and 104.6 receiving yards per game to the talented wide receivers they have seen this season. What pushed Odell over the top in claiming the top spot in our week twelve rankings is the fact that the Eagles are dealing with injuries to five of their corners, leaving his $8,500 price tag to look like a deal. At $396 per projected point OBJ is our top CPP play for this weekend and he should continue to see plenty of work as the six points underdog New York Giants attempt to keep pace with the Eagles. Roll with OBJ where possible.

Cameron Brate ($467 CPP; $4,400 salary)

With OJ Howard placed on injured reserve and his $4,400 price tag failing to reflect that Cameron Brate is destined to be one of the most popular plays of the week at the tight end position. Brate is a talented tight end who has had the misfortune of playing on the same team as one of the top talents in the NFL. Brate has long been a thorn in the sides of OJ Howard owners but never more so than when Jameis Winston has been under center. Brate should see all the work he can handle as the Bucs square off against a San Francisco 49ers defense that has allowed the fourteenth fewest fantasy points to the tight end position. A closer look at the 49ers opponents reveals that they have faced a grand total of two TE1’s on the entire season, holding Jared Cook in check for a 2-20 line but surrendering a massive eight reception, 114 yard game to Travis Kelce. Now while there is no comparing Brate to Kelce it should also be noted that Jimmy Graham, who Brate is more akin in current talent to, managed to put up his best game of the season with a five reception, 104 receiving yard performance. Brate is going to be a trendy play this weekend for good reason, especially when the 54 over/under this game currently sits at is considered. Roll with Brate where possible.
