Demaryius Thomas had 8 catches for 97 yards and a touchdown and looks like he may be the go-to guy in Denver.
Thomas has a ton of skill and displayed some of the reason why he was selected over Dez Bryant. Demaryius Thomas has legit #1 potential and will likely finish the season as a low-end WR2.
Grab him if he is still available in daily waiver leagues and he is worth the waiver claim in deeper leagues. Dynasty league managers will want to make a move for him if he is on your wire or make a offer to obtain the rookie before its too late.
Thomas exhibited the skills necessary to succeed in McDaniels’ offense and obviously had Kyle Orton’s eye trained on him throughout the game.
Kyle Orton was responsible for Brandon Marshall hauling in 21 receptions so we know Orton will force feed his #1 if he feels he has a clear-cut option. This bodes extremely well for the rookies fantasy value and Josh McDaniels seems to have found himself a gem.
Thomas’ debut ranks 4th all-time for most productive debut behind Anquan Boldin, Eddie Royal and Randy Moss. And as Chris Wesseling of Rotoworld points out this was all the more impressive due to the limited amount of snaps Demaryius actually played.
Broncos fans have reason to be excited with the developments on the offensive side of the ball as Demaryius Thomas, KnowShown Moreno, Eddie Royal and Tim Tebow present a bright future for the Broncos faithful.
We will leave you with coach Josh McDaniels’ comments:
“He’s still working off a little bit more limited menu than the other guys because he hasn’t been out there as much but hopefully if he continues to practice and continues to get out there and get the work in, that will soon be equal,” McDaniels said. “I have great confidence in him being able to run lots of different routes and he showed that versatility today.”
