In this weeks dynasty league dive Rizzla discusses what fantasy owners should do, or not do, with Kareem Hunt.
By now everyone reading this will have heard that star running back Kareem Hunt was released by the Kansas City Chiefs following video surfacing of him battering a young female.
While the release was surprising from a team that employs Tyreek Hill (even though charges were recently dismissed), it was well warranted and deserved.
Hunt is a mega talent that will still cost of premium in start up drafts for the 2019 season and as such owners in non deadline leagues should make a hard push for Hunt’s services.
Hunt should come at a deep discount from owners still in the thick of things as there is still some uncertainty as to if and when Kareem Hunt will see the field again.
Current owners are advised to stay the course and hold onto Hunt unless you receive a steal-of-a-deal too good to pass up. Hunt remains a top-25 dynasty asset despite a suspension that could last up to ten games of the 2019 season.
If you play in a dynasty league with a trade deadline that has already passed there is even more reason to hold onto Kareem Hunt.
At best you will be trading him for pennies on the dollar until an official punishment is handed down. Remember this is the RB8 in average fantasy points per game and is a player who led the NFL in rushing in his rookie season.
With that said we are fully aware that there are some out there who are simply unwilling to employ Hunt, even on a virtual team. If you land in this boat aim for a first round pick in dynasty and deeper keeper leagues. Those in formats with five or less keepers may have to settle for a second.
