Eloy Jimenez, Michael Kopech close to call up
According to reports top prospect Eloy Jimenez is close to a call up and with this news he is a recommended stash in any competitive league he is still available. Unfortunately for dynasty league and keeper league owners Eloy has probably long been scooped up but it is worth a waiver wire gander just in case fellow owners were more enamored with the likes of Vlade Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Victor Robles and Kyle Tucker.
Jimenez looks to be a solid four tool player and has been destroying the minors to the tune of a 18 hr, 60 rbi, .338 line including a .376 8-18 slash since his call up to Triple-A 29 games ago. Jimenez did display some speed in single A a couple of years ago but as mentioned above he should be considered more of a high upside four tool player for fantasy purposes.
The same article from the Chicago Tribune suggests that Michael Kopech may also be close to a call up according to player development director Chris Getz. Michael Kopech has arguably the best stuff of any minor league pitcher and the only reason he is not already in the majors is his propensity for early season control issues. Kopech has held his walks in place lately highlighting his truly immense fantasy ace upside. Kopech has dazzled with 152 strikeouts in 113 innings while posting an equally impressive 172 punch outs in 134 innings last year. Kopech is a recommended stash for all owners with bench flexibility and is a must add for all dynasty and keeper leagues where he may be sitting on the wire for whatever unexplained reason.
