Fantasy Basketball Box Score Boxing 12.12.10 – Melo Goes Off Against Future Team
Carmelo Anthony went off for 31 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block against his future team in the New York Knicks. Many viewed this match-up as a audition for the Knicks, and it is now up to the Knicks to strengthen their offer if they wish to land Melo this season.
Blake Griffin is the rookie of the year. Unless Griffin falls to injury there is no way he does not take home rookie of the year honors. I know, not much of a stretch but he has been ‘oh so impressive’. He finished Sundays game with 27 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocks vs the Magic.
Devin Harris erupted and narrowly missed the triple double with 16 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block for the Nets.
Amare Stoudemire is a man on a mission. His mission: Convince Melo that New York is the only place for him to play. All kidding aside, Amare has been on fire lately and after breaking the Knicks franchise record for consecutive 30 point games one has to wonder if his name will be uttered in the conversation of the greatest Knicks of all time when all is said and done. Only time will tell, but this has been an auspicious start to his tenure with the Knicks. Amare racked up 30 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocked shots against the Nuggets.
Raymond Felton exploded for 19 points and 17 assists in a win over the the Nuggets as if to say…”psst, Melo, we don’t need Chris Paul!”
Andre Iguodala went off for 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 threes and 1 steal against the Hornets. Iggy is rumoured to be on the trade block and will likely lose fantasy value wherever he lands, if he indeed is traded. Use this opportunity to sell high.
Elton Brand has 15 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block vs the Hornets.
Eric Gordon had 28 points and 8 assists against the Magic. The fact that EG did this with Baron Davis back in the starting lineup is very encouraging for fantasy owners.
Pau Gasol had 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks vs the Nets.
Kobe Bryant went off for 32 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 threes vs the Nets.
Marcus Camby had a solid night for the Blazers with 11 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals.
George Hill had a solid game for the Spurs with 22 points, 3 threes,2 blocks and 1 steal vs the Blazers. Hill is hot pickup for week eight of the fantasy basketball season.
