Fantasy Basketball Box Score Boxing November 5th 2010 – ‘J-Smoov Finds His Groove’

In Fantasy Basketball Box Score Boxing Win My Fantasy League writer Rizzla takes a look at the previous nights most interesting fantasy lines and provides some insight and analysis to utilize going forward.

Josh Smith did his ‘thang’ with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 blocks and 2 steals. This is the ‘J-Smoov’ fantasy owners were hoping for when they drafted him and hopefully the last two games are a sign of what his fantasy season will look like. Josh Smith leads the league in blocked shots and shows no signs of slowing down.

Jason Richardson went off for 38 points, 8 rebounds, 6 threes, 4 steals and 3 assists in an OT thriller against the Grizzlies and will be leaned on to be the primary scoring option this season so scoring outbursts like this may become more common as the season progresses.

Roy Hibbert had 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks and showed up in a big way for his fantasy owners. He also added 4 assists and the assist numbers he has been putting up this season are actually maintainable and his passing is probably the most under-appreciated part of his fantasy game due to his lack of usage in previous years. He is now averaging over 3 blocks per game and is proving to be the fantasy beast owners were hoping he would on draft day.

Dwight Howard had a monster double double of 30 points and 16 rebounds to go along with 2 steals and 1 block Friday night vs the Nets. He is averaging over 20 points per game on the season and if he can keep his average over 20 again this season it will only add more lustre to his 8-cat fantasy game.

Eric Bledsoe is creating a point guard controversy in Los Angeles and I can only say that this is a good problem to have if you are the Clippers. He is worth a short-term add in redraft leagues and is looking like a must-add in dynasty leagues. He finished the night with 12 points, 13 assists and 2 steals on 6 for 9 shooting from the field.

Blake Griffin had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists for the Clippers and is looking like an elite fantasy force that will be a 20 and 10 threat for many years to come. We would suggest trying to buy low or try to pry with some brand names but we doubt there will be many fantasy G.M’s in a hurry to let go of Blake Griffin.

Amir Johnson had 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Raptors and showed what he can do if he stays on of trouble and thus manages to stay on the court. Amir was a terror on the offensive boards hauling in 9 and is worth adding to your watch list.

Anderson Varajeo broke out for 23 points and 12 rebounds on a stupendous 10 for 10 shooting from the field. Unreal.

Jrue Holiday showed his potential and broke out for 29 points to go along with 8 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and 2 rebounds.

Toney Douglas was at it again and finished with a double double of 19 points and 10 rebounds and he also added 5 steals and 3 threes. He is on fire and needs to be picked up in all leagues.

Raymond Felton had 13 points and 10 assist and is thriving with Toney Douglas getting extended minutes. Felton has extra value in leagues where he has SG eligibility where his assists are invaluable.

Wesley Johnson got the start at shooting guard for the T-Wolves and got 35 minutes of playing time and he responded with a team-high 18 points. He chipped in 4 threes, 1 steal and 1 block.

Chris Paul showed up against the Heat in a big way and finished the night with 19 assists, 13 points and 5 steals.

Emeka Okafor broke out in the scoring department with 26 points to go with 13 rebounds and 1 block. We like Okafor’s offensive upside with Chris Paul as his PG and this tandems chemistry is still in its infancy stages.

Joakim Noah had 26 and 12 in 50 minutes for the Bulls and is looking absolutely amazing for the Bulls with Carlos Boozer out of the lineup. Expect his offensive numbers to tumble when Boozer returns which makes him an interesting sell-high candidate if you can net the right return.

Pau Gasol had 30 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks on over .500% shooting and is proving to be as dominant as always for his fantasy owners.

Reggie Evans hauled in 14 rebounds for the Toronto Raptors and is definitely worth the add if you need rebounds. The best thing here is that their center Andrea Bargnani seems to be allergic to rebounds which will leave Evans with plenty of rebounding opportunities when he is in the game with his fellow starter.

Al Jefferson had 16 points and 15 rebounds to go with 1 block and is starting to flourish in Utah alongside Deron Williams and Paul Millsap.

Andris Biedrins had 20 rebounds for the Warriors and is worth an add if on your wire for his rebound and block upside.

David Lee had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Warriors and despite being a third option on offense is still producing for his fantasy owners and will likely continue to until Ekpe Udoh returns to eat some minutes.

Monta Ellis had 23 points and 7 steals and is simply terrorizing the fantasy landscape with his versatile play. He looked amazing with Stephen Curry out of the lineup and still managed to put up one of the nights top fantasy lines with Curry’s return. Look for him to continue to be dominant on the in the scoring ans steal departments.

Carmelo Anthony went off for 30 points and 6 rebounds on an ultra-efficient 14 for 20 shooting from the field. Melo is looking solid as always in the points and rebounding categories but we still hope for more in the steals and assist departments from such a dominant talent.

Arron Affalo popped out of the box score with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals and is worth the add if still available in your league.

Mike Conley had 16 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds and 7 assists and as stated previously in box score boxing is playing like a brand new point guard with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
