Jarrett Jack, David Andersen, and Marcus Banks have been traded to the Hornets for Jerryd Bayless and Peja Stojakovic. The Hornets gain some depth, adding a PG veteran in Jack to play behind Chris Paul and another big man in David Andersen.
Of all the players involved Bayless has the most upside. He has a lot of potential and should get a bump in minutes now that he is backing up Jose Calderon instead of Chris Paul. Overall, the trade is a salary dump for the Raptors as Peja’s contract worth 14 million (perhaps the most overpaid player in the NBA) expires at the end of the year.
Speaking of overpaid players,Eddy Curry could return to the Knicks lineup soon. He has yet to play this season due to a hamstring injury, but the recent absence was due to a personal matter. Although the Knicks need help in the rebound department, he will have to earn his minutes in order to get a spot in the frontcourt rotation.
Chris Andersen will likely make his debut on Monday November 22nd. This will be huge for the Nuggets who still have Kenyon Martin out. Andersen should immediately provide a source of blocks and rebounds.
