Fantasy Basketball Hot Pickups – Week 6
Amir Johnson is the Toronto Raptors new starter at power forward with Reggie Evans sidelined with a foot injury and he needs to be added in all leagues. He has .600 FG%, 14 pts, 10 rbs and 1.5 blk upside. He is currently available in 56% of Yahoo! leagues.
Jose Calderon despite being the new starting point guard for the Toronto Raptors is currently sitting at only 68% owned. He is fresh off a 15 assist performance and is averaging 13 points and 8.7 assists over the past seven days. Make the add in all leagues.
Shaquille O’Neal has been on fire over the past seven days and is averaging 15.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1 block over that span on .710% shooting. He topped out with a 25 point and 11 rebound performance against the New Jersey Nets. He is only 36% owned.
Kyle Lowry continues to be a fantasy beast with Aaron Brooks sideline but is somehow only owned in 27% of leagues despiet averaging 8.6 points, 7.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals as a starter for the Rockets. He needs to be owned in all leagues.
Hakim Warrick is continuing to make his case to start over the overpaid Hedo Turkoglu and is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds on .514% shooting over the past seven days. Warrick has outplayed Hedo in most of the games this season and one has to think it is only a matter of time before they try Hedo out in a 6th man role where he can facilitate more as a point forward. He is currently available in 71% of leagues. Make the add and let the Suns rotation sort itself out.
Tyson Chandler has exploded recently and is averaging 11.8 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1 block per game over the past seven days. Chandler topped out with an outstanding 17 points and 18 rebounds against the Thunder team that traded for the big man last year only to rescind the trade due to health concerns. Eat that Sam Presti. He is available in 32% of leagues.
Al Farouq Aminu has continued to impress as a starter and there is no reason for the rebuilding Clippers to take him out of the starting lineup…ever. Make the add where roster space allows.
Andris Biedrins went off for 28 points and 21 rebounds Friday night and looks to be rounding back into pre-injury form. Make the add where available (available in 23% of leagues).
Boris Diaw is averaging 17.8 points and 8.3 rebounds over the past 7 days.. He has also amassed 4 steals and 2.3 threes per game over that span ranked as top-25 player over that span. He is currently only 71% owned.
Darrell Arthur has impressed over the past seven days with averages of 11.3 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal on .654% shooting. He is worth the add in the deepest leagues and is someone to add to your watch list in the rest of league formats.
Larry Sanders has been impressing with Andrew Bogut out of the lineup and has posted averages of 8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.5 steals on .471% shooting over his last two games. He is worth the add in the deepest leagues and is worth add in to your watch list in others.
Nick Young has been averaging 19 points per game over the past seven days and is worth consideration in all formats. Take note that John Wall has returned which will cause his scoring to dip but Nick Young seems to be taking the next step in the scoring department. He will not consistently help in other categories but is averaging 2 threes and 1 block over that same span.
Landry Fields is still getting it done, and yes, he is still the starting shooting guard for the Knicks and is averaging 9.7 points and 6.3 rebounds over his past seven games heading into Saturday. He put up 15 and 11 on Saturday afternoon. The most important thing to note is that he is averaging close to 30 minutes per game. He is available in 54% of leagues.
Kris Humprhies is averaging 8 points and 11 rebounds over the past seven days and needs to be added in all leagues. He is currently available in 57% of Yahoo! leagues.
