Fantasy Football Alert: Ray Rice to have chip on his shoulder
Ray Rice is upset that many so-called pundits are writing off his breakout campaign as a one year thing.
Ray Rice is out to prove everyone wrong, prove that 2009 was no fluke.
Now while I too am of the impression that Ray Rice will indeed take a step back, although likely just a small one, Rice is still an elite running back. Ray Rice is PPR gold and had 78 catches last year, good for 18th in the league and #1 for all running backs.
This number is very likely to drop with possession receiver Anquan Boldin now in the fold. The reliance of the run game is also likely to decrease with the passing game being reinvigorated with Boldin now in the mix. All indications is that their passes per game will rise again in 2010-2011.
With that said Ray Rice will still likely finish the season as a top-12 running back, and news that Ray Rice may be playing with a chip on his shoulder and the possible intent to surpass his 2009 numbers has to be music to any fantasy G.M’s ears. Draft accordingly and now is probably a good time to bump him up on your standard league cheat sheets.
