Fantasy Football: DeAngelo Williams placed on I.R: Fantasy Implications
DeAngelo Williams of the Carolina Panthers has been placed on injured reserve ending his season and perhaps his career with the thrifty Carolina Panthers.
DeAngelo is only a couple of years removed from being named Fantasy Football MVP, but with Jonathan Stewart ready for a feature back role and DeAngelo’s age, it stands to reason that this former fantasy stalwart will be wearing another uniform next year.
And I am all for it as Jonathan Stewart unquestionably is the superior talent.
For fantasy purposes the rest of the year Jonathan Stewart is the running back you want to own.
Stewart is still dealing with the symptoms of his concussion but will more than likely be back for the fantasy playoffs which is the most important thing to the majority of owners who are still ‘in it’ at this time of year.
For week 11 and 12 against the solid run defenses of Ray Lewis’ Ravens and Rob Ryan’s Browns, Mike Goodson (25% owned) is the running back to own fresh of a 100 yard performance.
He is not a very attractive option going up against these two defenses but is worth a start in PPR leagues due to his good hands.
If you are angling to Win Your Fantasy League than we suggest trying to acquire the injured Jonathan Stewart forthwith as he has still not resumed practicing and is a solid buy-low if your trade deadline has not yet passed.
Jonathan Stewart gets a serious boost in dynasty value following this news.
