Brian Westbrook to the 49ers: Fantasy Impact
Westbrook signing with the 49ers solidifies San Francisco chances of taking the NFC West. Westbrook is not fantasy relevant working behind a running back like Frank Gore but Gore does have a history of injuries and another one could lead to Westbrook becoming an RB2 again. The 49ers plan to pound the rock but Gore is their feature back even with Westbrook on the roster. Draft as a Gore handcuff only.
Derrick Ward is falling down the depth chart and if he can not secure the number 2 back role he may be cut by the Bucs. Caddy is an injury waiting to happen so it would make sense to keep Ward around, but at his price tag and with the recent emergence of Kareem Huggins, Ward and his failure to impress might find himself on the chopping block.
Malcolm Kelly despite all his promise may be on his last legs with the Redskins and may not make the final roster. I think he makes it anyways due to upside, but he is not a draft option in any redraft format.
Jonathan Stewart is said to be way ahead of where he was last year in terms of dealing with a bothersome injury and that is great news as despite a lingering injury Jonathan Stewart was a top-12 fantasy back and rushed for over 1100 yards and 10 touchdowns. Draft with confidence as an RB2 knowing the TD`s will be coming his way.
Who has the top playoff schedules? Rotoworld discusses and mentions Tampa Bay, Seattle, Indianapolis, Baltimore and Miami as having the most favorable schedules. Keep this in mind on draft day and give these teams skill players a mini-boost on your cheat sheets.
