Fantasy Football Fix August 31st 2010

dwardDerrick Ward has been released from the Bucs and this is no surprise since news of Kareem Huggins overtaking him for the #2 job behind Cadillac Williams hit the net over two weeks ago and Ward was simply too expensive to keep around as a 3rd stringer especially with Earnest Graham also capable of playing running back. Ward may be the sort of power back the Seahawks are looking for so if Ward is reasonable about his contract demands there is a very good chance he signs on with them over the next week.

Matt Leinart on trade block and with his exorbitant salary teams will probably wait until he is outright released. Any G.M that trades for him deserves to be fired.

Rams may be interested in Vincent Jackson and this acquisition would make perfect sense for the franchise as they are ready to roll out rookie and top-5 QB (in wages anyways) Sam Bradford. They would be stupid not to acquire Vincent Jackson after losing Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton and we suspect a deal may be imminent.

Michael Bush has surgery to left hand. Being a southpaw this is significant as the coaching staff isn’t likely to want to have Bush out there with only one good hand..and that hand being his weak hand. Darren McFadden is in line to be the opening day starter and we are still very high on him despite two utterly disappointing campaigns.
