Fantasy Football Fix: July 27th 2010

chris-johnson1Chris Johnson may not see a reduction a carries after all. Offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger simply stated that it is hard to take the ball out of the hands of someone who averages 6 yards per carry. Draft confidently as a top-2 pick on draft day.

James Starks may be Ryan Grants replacement according to reports. Starks has impressed thus far and is being looked at as a long-term replacement for Ryan Grant. Dynasty leaguers take notice, Starks is now solid stash material. See out full analysis here.

Terrell Owens has agreed to terms with Bengals. This is a boon for T.O, Ochoccinco, Palmer and even Cedric Benson. He can now be considered a flex option with serious upside. Draft with confidence as a flex play or bye week filler, but be noted he does still have WR2 upside. See our full analysis here.

The San Francisco Chronicle suggests that Michael Bush may take on an early-down role for the Raiders with McFadden being relegated to third-down work. This is what many pundits feel should happen but McFadden will be given every chance to secure the feature role before they hand the early-down job role to the arguably equally as talented Michael Bush. Both are decent flex options but will cancel each other out certain weeks. With that said the Raiders will likely rush close to 500 times this season so there are plenty of carries to go around.

Razzball released a top-100 wide receiver rankings and projections and this is one of the top lists available. The projections are well estimated and the top-25 is arguably the most spot on I have seen anywhere on the web.

Matt Hasselbeck is hailed as a fantasy sleeper by our friends at Fantasy Knuckleheads and we agree. Hasselbeck has quite the underrated collection of wide receiver talent and due to a health related disappointing campaign in 2009 he is being overlooked in fantasy drafts despite his potential to be a QB1 and throw for over 25+ TD’s.

Fantasy Knuckleheads released a overvalued and undervalued running back list and it has some interesting names. The overvalued list includes Ryan Mathews and Reggie Bush while the undervalued list includes Fred Jackson who I don’t agree with and Pierre Thomas a player, as stated by FK, who has a very good chance at outplaying his ADP with a full season.

The Hazean released a overvalued and undervalued wide receiver list. The overvalued list included an seemingly obvious one in Vincent Jackson, but they also gave honorable mention to Randy Moss and Mike Sims-Walker…two names we do not agree on.  The undervalued list includes Sidney Rice who is not undervalued, but also includes Hakeem Nicks who we firmly agree with.

Rotoworld suggests staying away from both Terrell Owens and Antonio Bryant in fantasy and I would not blame you if you heeded to their advice. With that said I do feel T.O has at minimum flex value and more likely WR3 value with WR2 upside.
