Fantasy Football Fix Nov 2nd 2010
In Today’s Fantasy Football Fix: More stories emerge regarding why Moss was let go; Colt McCoy to start; Tim Hightower’s role to expand and more…..
More stories have emerged regarding Randy Moss’ being waived by Minnesota including a story broken by Yahoo! Sports that Moss complained about food and told teammates he was one and done in Minny because he couldn’t play for Coach Childress. The team also thought he was a bad influence on Percy Harvin who obviously looked up to him a bit.
Tim Hightower will be more involved in the offense going forward after receiving only 2 touches in week 8 following his demotion from starter. This is good news for fantasy owners but his role will likely be a marginal one at best sapping nearly all of his fantasy value except for in PPR leagues.
Colt McCoy is slated to get the start for the Browns with both Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace missing practice this week.
ESPN Insider Eric Karabell debates whether new fantasy options have emerged on the Raiders other than the big 4. The big 4 being Darren McFadden, Zach Miller, Michael Bush and Sebastian Janikowski. Names he analyzes include Jason Campbell who has been on fire leading his Raiders to blowout victories; Darrius Heyward-Bey who had a career game this Sunday; Bruce Gradowski who looked good before going down with injury; Marcel Reece who has scored in consecutive weeks. What do you think? Should any of these Raiders be universally owned?
ESPN Insider Eric Karabell has his Stock Watch report for this week and debates Donovan McNabb’s fantasy value after the bewildering benching at the end of the game in favor of Rex Grossman. Karabell points out that Donovan has as many fantasy points as Tom Brady and more than Brett Favre, Eli Manning and Matt Schaub despite having more INT’s than TD’s. Karabell also mentions some risers and fallers and names Jahvid Best, Mark Sanchez and Chad Ochocinco as his fallers. You will have to give him a read to see his risers.
Mike Hart and Anthony Gonzalez both appear doubtful for this weekends match-ups for the Colts with their respective injuries.
Yahoo! Sports Brad Evans put out his Fantasy Flames and Lames article and among other names mentioned Win My Fantasy League favorite Mike Williams of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who apparently is being critically misused by his managers starting in less than 50% of leagues despite averaging more fantasy points than Brandon Marshall, Larry Fitzgerald and Greg Jennings. He also suggests to rely on Williams down the stretch in fantasy leagues.
